A lot of power and responsibility comes along with fame and recognition. Eventually, what matters the most is how they channel it. Danica Patrick has had her share of fame because of her NASCAR career, and to quite a large extent, she has used it to spread awareness.

Danica Patrick has had quite the racing career. She started off in 1998, racing in UK’s Formula Vauxhall Winter Series. From then on, until 2018, she experimented with several types of racing and in different series.

Her longest time, however, was as part of NASCAR; which is also the major source of her fame and success. She raced in the Cup Series, starting 191 races over the course of 7 years.

After her retirement, she ventured into various entrepreneurial avenues, aside from her appearances on NASCAR and F1’s commentary and analyst panels. She also runs the Pretty Intense podcast on YouTube, with guests coming from a variety of backgrounds.

In short, there are plenty of people who listen to her opinion. On Instagram, that number is 903,000 (and counting!). Her recent story on the platform raised another social issue that plagues the country.

In a recent interview with People Magazine, she opened up about her insecurities and how, in the chase for her ideal body, she got breast implants in 2014. She thought, “It would pull my whole look together and make me feel more feminine and sexy.”

Unfortunately for the ex-driver, things went south soon. In what was an unbelievably tough 8 years, her body went through a lot of change; change she never expected to see.

Suffering from breast implant illness, Patrick started noting hair loss, (stubborn and unexplained) weight gain, and other emotional changes. She went on a spree to find out what was causing all the changes but was unavailable to find the answer for years.

Finally, she got her implants removed in 2022. That seemed to have been the problem, as the symptoms she had noticed slowly vanished. In a bid to help the thousands of women who might be going through the same troubles, she wanted to share her experiences.
