Darlington Raceway Bags a New Sponsor for the First NASCAR Playoffs Race

Fans will be coming back to Darlington for the first NASCAR Playoffs race. It will be the Cookout southern 500 at Darlington speedway on sixth September. The track and Cook Out made sure about an association that makes the restaurant chain the official quick-service restaurant of Darlington Raceway.

The organization gives Cook Out exclusive rights. This incorporates trackside billboards, dividers, and asphalt promotions. In addition, there will be extra sponsorship rights through ads and digital promotions.

NASCAR reports, “It takes a special authentic brand to match the heat of competition in the NASCAR Playoffs at the track Too Tough To Tame, so we are proud to welcome Cook Out to the 71st running of the Southern 500,” said Darlington President Kerry Tharp.

“Cook Out is known for serving their fresh burgers, barbecue, hot dogs and shakes across the south for over 30 years, and we look forward to expanding our partnership for the Cook Out Southern 500.”

Bojangles was the previous sponsor of the Darlington track. It included advancements for the raceway and the eatery in every area. However, Bojangles didn’t restore its title sponsorship during the current year’s Southern 500.

Darlington Raceway reported a week ago that it will have a set number of fans for the Southern 500. NASCAR and the tracks don’t deliver official numbers for ticket deals. Notwithstanding, the state said it will permit up to 8,000 fans for the race.

The track facilitated NASCAR’s first return race, the Real Heroes 400. Kevin Harvick won the race. Although, it was facilitated without fans in the midst of the pandemic in May.

Can Jimmie Johnson secure his seat for Darlington?

Only one race remains in the 2020 NASCAR regular season. 10 drivers have already secured berth with a race win. 3 drivers were able to secure their seats by the way of points in the regular season. Only 3 places are left. Right now Jimmie Johnson is below the cut for playoffs.

He is in his final NASCAR season and Saturday’s Daytona race will be his final chance to enter the race for the championship win. He is 4 points below the cutoff, behind his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, William Byron.

Hendrick Motorsports reports The 7-times NASCAR Cup Series Champion says, “It’s so hard to know how things will play out down in Daytona. If you get single file and it’s the old track with high tire wear, which it won’t be, you can work with a teammate and really try to create some opportunity. But if we’re all running in a big group, luck is going to play a bigger role in things for the majority of it.”
