Recently, the host of Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, Dave Moody, took to Twitter to suggest that if he was Christopher Bell he wouldn’t feel like a high priority. This was regarding the recent pit crew swap between Bubba Wallace and Christopher Bell. As of late, Bubba had been going nuts with the constant mistakes made by his pit crew throughout the year. Hence, the decision to swap out members of Bubba’s crew with that of Bell’s.

Joe Gibbs racing leases pit crew to 23XI Racing. In NASCAR a pit crew can either make or break a race. Since Bubba had a terrible year with his pit crew, making countless mistakes that ended up costing him almost every race this year. Meanwhile, Christopher Bell was fighting to get into the playoffs as he is trying to make it to the playoffs. But instead of focusing on him they just sent his pit crew off to 23XI’s Bubba Wallace.
Reacting to Dave’s tweet, Hamlin stated that Dave was speaking without any knowledge as to why the pit crew changes were made. Hamlin went on to state that a successful pit crew involves chemistry, speed, leadership, and experience.
What makes you say that Dave?
Especially without knowledge of why changes were made. Chemistry, speed, leadership, experience is what makes up a successful pit crew. Some teams have 2 or 3 of those but not all. Perhaps by mixing a few from one to another is helps both get all 4 https://t.co/v9PkOv3ck3

On the other hand, not everyone was necessarily in agreement with Hamlin, and some even sided with Dave’s idea. Others argued that Hamlin should not be speaking since his crew was not swapped.
Opposing thoughts over Bubba Wallace from fans on Twitter
Meanwhile, on Twitter conflicting thoughts were passed around. While some critics took on Denny, some even based Bubba in the mix.
Well @dennyhamlin it's simple your driver cry's about his pit crew and instead of you taking the crew that is locked in the playoffs ie. yours or Kurt Busch, he gets @CBellRacing who's fighting for the playoffs and a win as well! I agree with Dave 💯

I’m sure you could’ve traded your crew to Bubbas crew considering you have 2 wins and locked into the playoffs while he’s suffering 🤝

Why not give him yours then? It's not like you don't have 25+ driver penalties on pit road this year…

None of it matters. Bubba will still find a way to under perform. Give someone else a chance and that 23 car will be in the top 10 every week.

Overall, there seems to be no plausible explanation for the best possible solution. It is true that Bubba was struggling with his crew, but neglecting Bell might not have been a grand choice to make for Joe Gibbs Racing, considering Bubba isn’t even on Bell’s team.

Maybe, they should have prioritized their own driver first before handing out pit crew as charity. But in any case, Hamlin could have stayed mute about this event. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
