Unfortunately, the Cup Series race at the Kansas Speedway was halted due to Mother Nature’s interference. As a result, the race has been postponed to Monday night. Admittedly, the drivers were able to get a handful of laps done before mist and a drizzle halted everything in its tracks. With nothing better to do, Denny Hamlin left the track and checked in at a ball game.

Admittedly, it wasn’t an MLB game that he was watching, as the Houston Astros played their game a few days earlier. So, he must have checked out a local game. Nevertheless, it looked like he had a pretty good time at the game.

Truthfully speaking, Hamlin probably needs the distraction, as he has to do it all again tonight. The #11 car will start from 15th place, where he was running when the race got suspended.

How did the first race go for Denny Hamlin?

When the race kicked off on Sunday night, Hamlin made his way up to 4th place by the 3rd lap. He held onto the position until lap 9 when the caution came out. Sadly for him, he did not get the restart right and dropped down to 9th place. The good news was that he was able to claw his way back up the order and was running 3rd by Lap 27.

Unfortunately, it all went to pot on the next lap, when Hamlin had a huge moment and plummeted down to 28th. As it turned out, he and title rival Kevin Harvick hit the wall and both of them compromised their races. From there, Denny Hamlin mounted another fight back up the order and was running 15th when the race got red-flagged and then suspended.

Once he was sure that there wasn’t going to be any racing that night, the driver left the track. Obviously, all the drivers had the same idea and took off for parts unknown. In the meantime, Hamlin’s social media indicated that he was somewhere in Texas, watching a local ball game.
