Denny Hamlin is a force not to mess with in the NASCAR field. Time and time again, he has proven just how fast he really is. Unfortunately, Phoenix has always been a weakness for the driver, as he lost despite making it there multiple times. But this year, he shot a warning at everyone else.

In a recent Instagram reel announcing his new haircut, Hamlin said, “I’ve lost 18 Cup Championships in a row. Gotta change the sh*t up.”

Looks like Hamlin has been putting the work and the hours in to truly master a track as challenging as Phoenix. And after being in the Cup Series for 18 years, starting his career in 2005’s Banquet 400 at Kansas, he seems more ready than ever to finally take what he deserves. In fact, many people consider Hamlin the “Best driver without a championship”.

Denny Hamlin could change the Script this Year

Hamlin had a very eventful season, much more than anyone else this season. He has funded multiple drivers, including Ross Chastain, and recently, William Byron. And of course, the iconic battle against NASCAR to make the Next-Gen cars safer. Can’t forget the time they made him undergo sensitivity training for retweeting a racist meme. Moreover, his time on track has not been the smoothest either.

But one thing that has remained a constant is his consistency on the track. The driver always managed to get as many points as he could, and kept himself relevant. On top of that, he already has 2 wins under his belt this season. Well, 3 wins but the one at Pocono was taken away because of an all-too-powerful piece of tape.
