Denny Hamlin’s production day wasn’t so productive

Denny Hamlin’s recent production day with the Joe Gibbs Racing team took a turn from the ordinary to the outright hilarious. In a video he shared, aptly captioned “Right in the apples,” Hamlin found himself in the midst of a quirky shoot. Armed with a sword-like prop, he was ready for action. But things went south when an apple, intended to be part of the stunt, went rogue and made an unplanned landing.

Caught by surprise, Hamlin was spotted doing a bit of a discomfort dance to shake off the pain. When the apple was tossed his way for a second take, the seasoned driver quickly shielded his sensitive area, making light of the situation. Judging by the laughter and comments on his post, his fans got a kick out of this fun side of Hamlin.

But there’s more to Hamlin’s story than just comic relief. Considering he’s still on the mend from shoulder surgery, he’s probably not keen on any more mishaps, especially with his wedding to long-term partner Jordan Fish on the horizon. And speaking of his recovery, while there were whispers about his readiness for the Clash at the Coliseum, Hamlin has recently shed some light on his progress.

Yet, Hamlin isn’t one to hedge his bets. He’s brushed off the notion of having a substitute driver on standby. The surgery, though arthroscopic, was no walk in the park. Hamlin was advised to keep his right arm under wraps for three months. But, true to his racing spirit, he’s making quick strides on the road to recovery. It won’t be long before fans see him back in action, fit as a fiddle.
