When the apple was tossed his way for a second take, the seasoned driver quickly shielded his sensitive area, making light of the situation. Denny Hamlin’s road to recovery is about beating the clock

Denny Hamlin has been battling a shoulder injury that threw a wrench in his championship dreams. Surgery, which took place on November 22, 2023, was the path to getting back to top form for this Joe Gibbs Racing star. But with the new season looming, Hamlin has been racing against the clock to heal up.

The good news is that Hamlin’s recovery is on the fast track. Despite initial doubts about his readiness for the Clash at the Coliseum, it seems those concerns are in the rearview mirror. As per NASCAR insider Bob Pockrass, Hamlin’s shoulder rehab is still a work in progress.

Yet, Hamlin isn’t one to hedge his bets. He’s brushed off the notion of having a substitute driver on standby. The surgery, though arthroscopic, was no walk in the park.
