Earlier, NASCAR officially announced that the North Wilkesboro Speedway is returning to the Cup Series calendar. To be precise, it will host the 2023 NASCAR All-Star race, much to the delight of many. Stewart-Haas Racing driver Kevin Harvick was among the many who responded positively. However, his response prompted hilarious reactions from fans and fellow drivers like Denny Hamlin.

Having had a wretched day in the office at Darlington last week, he was still smarting from the loss. Harvick said, “Great week for the sport! No more fires and a bad a** All Star race location! Now let’s be aggressive and get to work on fixing the front, rear, and side impacts for the drivers safety”.

This was obviously a dig at NASCAR for his fiery exit from the first Playoff race of the season. Naturally, he will be hoping that the sport comes up with more permanent solutions to combat the issue.

How did Hamlin and the NASCAR community respond to Kevin Harvick?

Everyone found Harvick’s comments hilarious, and many more loved Hamlin’s response. They were of the opinion that having the two drivers on Twitter would be absolutely hilarious. Some even suggested that it would be even better, once Kyle Busch joined the party.

It is interesting to note that Harvick once took part in a test session at the North Wilkesboro Speedway. This was all the way back in 2010 when he was racing for Richard Childress Racing in the #29 car. So he would obviously be thrilled to see its return for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, even in an All-Star capacity.

Last month, he was at the North Wilkesboro Speedway to watch the modified race over there and he loved it. According to him, many people were surprised at how supportive the community was, of racing at the iconic venue. He also acknowledged that there was something really nostalgic about the facilities.
