Hendrick Motorsports has been on a bit of a roller coaster ride in recent times. While William Byron won the last two races with Kyle Larson closely following him, the team has missed the services of Chase Elliott following his snowboarding injury. However, HMS could be on its way to facing another massive setback, following the controversy in Phoenix where NASCAR confiscated the louvers from all four cars. Recently, Denny Hamlin made a catastrophic prediction about Hendrick Motorsports’ fate while discussing the team’s recent battle with NASCAR.
Last weekend on Friday, NASCAR officials found some issues with the louvers of all HMS cars. Following the discovery, the officials confiscated the louvers for more investigation. If found guilty, one of the most successful teams in NASCAR could face huge penalties in terms of points and fines. Meanwhile, Hamlin ended up laying out a nightmarish scenario for Hendrick Motorsports while talking about the louvers controversy.

Denny Hamlin’s thoughts on louvers controversy
In the recent episode of the Actions Detrimental Podcast, Denny Hamlin suggested that due to the parts being made by different manufacturers, they can be hard to fit on cars. In such cases, NASCAR permits teams to make subtle changes in the parts. However, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver does not think that the louvers fiasco HMS finds itself in is a “fit issue.”

Hamlin continued, “I think this is gonna be changing the contour of things issue. And if that’s the case. That’s gonna be one of their hammers of, we told you not to f**k with it. And don’t f**k with it.”
The #11 Toyota driver felt that NASCAR could bring down the hammer on Rick Hendrick and Co. pretty hard if they are found guilty of making unauthorized modifications to the louvers. Moreover, he also claimed that the team could face some serious consequences that have never been witnessed in the sport’s history.

Denny Hamlin stated, “If so, it could be the all-time biggest fine in NASCAR by one team, at one moment if it’s all four right. I mean we could have four crew chiefs gone. We could have four 100-point fines and money and playoff points. Mr. H has got something now.”
