More than a week has passed since the infamous Bubba Wallace and Kyle Larson clash. However, people are still talking about it, to this day. Safe to say, Bubba Wallace will likely be unable to escape that moment. This is unless he either creates an even bigger controversy or he redeems himself. Recently, Denny Hamlin spoke about the incident and gave his take on the whole situation.
He said, “Obviously, he was certainly frustrated with the on track part of it, which I totally understand. Larson put him in a bad spot there. I’ve done it many times this year where I’ve kind of squeezed — that’s why William got so mad. These cars just coming off the corner have a weird air buffer that you get someone to the inside of you and it just kind of pushes your car up.”

What was Denny Hamlin referring to, in relation to Bubba Wallace?
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was talking about his incident with William Byron. At the time, Byron had punted Hamlin off into a spin during a caution period. This was pretty much the result of Hamlin roughing him up a little too often. As a result, Byron must have eventually snapped and then retaliated. In a way, the circumstances of the Byron-Hamlin incident and the Larson-Wallace incident, had a similar result.

The biggest difference is that Byron’s retaliation was at a lower speed because of the caution flag. Wallace on the other hand, was at full throttle, and it could have been a pretty dangerous incident. In the end, Bubba Wallace earned a 1-race suspension, which meant that he sat out of the Cup race at Homestead-Miami. Now, he will be back for the upcoming race at Martinsville, hopefully a little calmer and wiser than he was before.
