Denny Hamlin was in the news again for yet another spin on the race track ahead of the Daytona 500. Following that incident, there has been a lot of noise in the NASCAR world. Though fans love all the drama in the races, who is really responsible for the wrecks and cautions?

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver appeared on the ‘Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin’ podcast and got talking about the race and wrecks that happened at The Clash at the Coliseum. Despite being a team owner, he shared everything from a driver’s perspective.

Denny Hamlin divulged that William Byron did not retaliate

The co-owner of 23XI Racing explained the entire incident about how he got furious with Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron, but later apologized to him.

Denny Hamlin said, “At the end of the race, I got taken out like again by Byron and I was p*ssed. I was spun around sideways on the track and I am giving him the finger. You know, and he’s not really doing anything or retaliating.”

He continued, “So I get out of the car and I turn around and I mean mug him and walked over to him and like, ‘dude what the f*ck’. I didn’t touch you and you like blew the corner. And he’s like, ‘no bro Harvick was p*ssed at me and power drove me after the race and I just ran into you.’ I’m like, ‘oh sh*t I’m sorry man that’s my fault.”

The three-time Daytona 500 winner added a few words for Kevin Harvick and Noah Gragson. After analyzing the situation and going through the replay, Hamlin thinks it was Gragson that led to the wreck.

He said, “And I watched that. Harvick, I think, is mad at the wrong guy. I think Noah plowed the #24 (Byron’s car), cause you can see alright when you watch the replays right and it shows them the bumper can. When you see the bump and then it jars the camera and another stronger bump, they are getting hit from behind.”
