So, Busch had mysterious smoke coming out of his car. Soon, it was found out that the smoke was coming after the engine failed. Obviously, this left the driver of the #18 car disappointed, as he was on his way to winning the race. This was abundantly clear in the post-race interview.

He said, “Engine broke. Just unfortunate circumstances for us tonight. Guys did a great job. Brought a really fast M&M’s Toyota Camry. Just real proud of the effort. “ He added, “All of the stuff that the guys have done and gone through with just all the news and everything going on through the year. They’ve dug in. They’ve never given up and they continue. Just had a great car and don’t come out with anything to show for it. That’s what I really really hate about it.”

Denny Hamlin knows where Kyle Busch messed up

The driver of the #11 car talked about the issue and how he felt about it. And he seems to blame Busch for engine issues as he discussed later.

“Sure, I’m worried about it, but it doesn’t do me any good. I can’t change the engine during the course of the race,” Denny said. “I think the 18 missed a shift at some point. So you do that certainly it’s going to play a factor in it. Overall, we didn’t have any issues.”

Clearly, Hamlin thinks it’s Kyle who messed up. But luckily, he doesn’t think it’s outright his fault, because Next-Gen cars are not perfect. In fact, the driver of the #11 car had a similar experience earlier.
