Denny Hamlin has always been known to land in the middle of heated Twitter arguments and what happened recently seems to be no different. Hamlin locked horns with sprint car racer Danny Dietrich as he defended his co-owned team’s under-fire racing driver, Bubba Wallace.

Deny Hamlin initially fired back at Danny Dietrich when the latter tweeted, “It gets old seeing @BubbaWallacein my news feeds. So much drama. He literally relies on crashing and/or crying to stay in racing news. Bubba needs to stick to @USLegendCars.” Hamlin replied, “Ohhh. Your one of those..”

This started an all-out back-and-forth between Dietrich and Hamlin. Soon Dietrich fired back stating, “one of those”.. lol.. please elaborate Denny.” Hamlin then responded to his previously incomplete statement by tweeting, “One of those Twitter trolls who talks shit about people they’ve never met, never raced against nor has the credibility to speak on the talent level of those they are commenting on.”

Not long after another fan on Twitter told Hamlin, Hey Denny you and bubba can buckle u anytime and join your friend Kyle and test your talent in a 410 sprint. I’d pay money to see it.” To which the Joe Gibbs Racing driver said, “Not my skill set. Neither is racecar driving for DD.” Hamlin perhaps meant that racecar i.e. Cup Series car driving was not one of Danny Dietrich’s skill sets. However, a fan interpreted it the wrong way and said, “Denny you’re my favorite nascar driver but I would suggest maybe brushing up on WoO, All Star and Local PA racing before you say that..”

Hamlin was quick to clarify and mentioned, I’m not doubting any dirt drivers talent. I don’t have the credentials to say that anyone sucks in that series.”

However, fans had seemingly derailed from whichever intention had spoken about dirt racers. Soon another fan was quick to ask Hamlin, “So then what is this?” with a picture of his “Not my skill set…” tweet.

This is what the full conversation looked like

The conversation mostly started out as an argument and then quickly turned into a blame game after Hamlin was supposedly misunderstood by the fans.
