It is no secret that Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain have a bit of a rivalry going on. Recently in a Door Bumper Clear podcast, he decided to take a few cheeky shots at the Trackhouse Racing driver. To be precise, he talked about how Chastain conducted post-race interviews on the front stretch or in Victory Lane.

He said, “I’ve heard that actually about Ross. He’ll zone way out or hyperfocus on something. So just stare off like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about’. We’ve been going that way the whole weekend.”

Needless to say, Hamlin and his fellow podcasters found his antics hilarious. One of the DBC crew even labeled Chastain as a ‘f**k up’ and declared him as ‘idiot of the week’, amid plenty of laughter. If Chastain does listen to the podcast, he could potentially try and get revenge on Hamlin. Admittedly, the two of them have clashed on the track on multiple occasions, earning each other’s wrath.

What next for Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain?

For now, the two drivers will see out the remainder of the regular season. Hopefully, they will try and stay out of each other’s way, because the last thing they need is to squabble during the Playoffs. Right now in the regular season, both Hamlin and Chastain can go at each other, hammer and tongs, without a care in the world. This is because both of them have qualified and look like no one will be displacing them any time soon.

However, once the Playoffs begin, the more they try to one-up each other. The more chances it offers their rivals to slip by and pull a fast one. Both Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain are on the same boat because they are hunting for their maiden Cup Series championship.

However in the Joe Gibbs Racing driver’s case, he is already in his 40s, so there is not much time left for him. Meanwhile, the Trackhouse Racing driver is a full decade younger than Hamlin. So there will be more chances for that maiden title.
