Denny Hamlin Racing Driver Casey Kirwan put up an unusual show when his car took off the track in the virtual Nascar Coca-Cola iRacing series. Kirwan has a partnership with Nike Jordan sportswear.

In Feb, Hamlin announced his team and Casey got to drive the number 23 car for the team.

Team owner Denny Hamlin is a long time friend of NBA legend Michael Jordan. And the Jordan brand is his long time sponsor. So when he launched his team this year in February, his virtual racing team got the ‘Jordan’ brand backing.

Denny Hamlin a big supporter of NASCAR iRacing series

Currently, Hamlin owns a team in the ‘eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series’ and has two drivers under his wing. He has been a rather vocal supporter of virtual racing even before it garnered popularity.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, NASCAR launched the ‘Pro Invitation Series’ on iRacing with real NASCAR stars on the virtual grid. The series was a huge success and played a big role in promoting ‘eNASCAR’.

In an old interview, Denny talked about his team and the Jordan theme. He said, “If you’ve got cars with no sponsors and you can put anything on them you want.

“I always thought it’d be really cool to have a Jumpman car. So I contacted (Jordan) and said, ‘Hey, is this something you’d be interested in?’ He says, ‘I’ll have a design within three days.’”

Additionally, he talked about his iRacing career in the old days. He said, “I was very good at iRacing back in the day; I sat on the pole and won some really big, prestigious races.
