NASCAR’s controversialist and arguably one of the best racers on the field, Denny Hamlin is back again in the spotlight. While he is often out in the open, catching all the attention because of his on-track antics, this time the veteran driver has something else up his sleeve. In fact, despite the 2023 heartbreak, Hamlin isn’t letting anything get to his head as he prepares for the upcoming season, reaching out to his ardent following, and presenting them with an interesting proposition.

Even during NASCAR’s lackluster off-season, Hamlin has his way of exciting fans. This time, partnering with Swiss company, Logitech, which is renowned for its gaming gear and computer peripherals, he is giving away special Christmas presents that include a top-notch G923 steering wheel and pedals for those who want to try their hands at simulation racing.

Taking it to his social media, Hamlin shared the details on his ‘X’ account and also shared a sign-up link. The tweet reads, Sign up for the DH newsletter to be entered http://bit.ly/dennyhamlinnewsletter.”

The 43-year-old really became public enemy number 1 when he poured salts into the crowds’ wounds, shrugging off their jeers and instead giving one back to them, indirectly mentioning his friend turned rival Kyle Larson, saying, “I beat your favorite driver – all of them.” Even though the 23XI Racing co-owner couldn’t advance into the final 4 owing to a series of unfortunate mechanical issues in the final rounds of the tournament, his act of riling up the crowd in Bristol really got fans boiling.

Speaking to Dale Earnhaardt Jr, the man behind Hamlin’s podcast – Actions Detrimental, Hamlin did a self-reflection about his villainous heel-turn. He said, “A lot of the fan uproar was because I am opinionated. I do believe that I have more fans than I have ever had, by far. However, the counter Denny Hamlin fans, the ones who don’t like me at all, are louder than they have ever been.”

“So it’s just been more noise but I do believe it did what we hoped and that was, you know, build a platform, build a fanbase, build a brand, and see where this thing goes,” said Hamlin. Shortly after the JGR veteran spoke his mind about embracing the dark side and establishing himself as a brand, Dale Jr also delivered his take.

He said, “I think you have gained more fans, I think people have gotten to know you better through the show, you can’t help but learn really who somebody is when they are putting themselves out there like that and people will choose to like or not like what they hear, right? Seems like you’ve grown fanbase but to your point, you’ve also stoked the fire a little bit with some of the people that don’t like you, they’re still listening. I think all of those things are great.”
