Jesse Love nailed his third pole win of the year at the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway, marking his first pole on a track that isn’t a superspeedway. Blazing through the qualifying lap in just 29.093 seconds at a speed of 185.612 mph, this was Love’s 24th lap ever at this venue. Close on his heels was Cole Custer, who has a hefty 2600 laps at Texas under his belt across the top-3 series.

The pole win for Jesse Love came right after a bit of a scare. Earlier in the day, NASCAR posted a throwback video showing Michale McDowell’s harrowing wreck, which sent him smashing into the wall and spiraling through the air in a series of barrel rolls.

Reacting to this, Jesse Love reshared the video with the comment, “Can y’all not post this right before we qualify” It was a mix of humor and nerves, but it clearly didn’t throw him off his game.
