The Chicago Street course race was one for the books. While the event initially faced significant opposition due to its unconventional nature, it was deemed to be a successful weekend, according to several officials. Critics argued that racing on a street circuit in a city like Chicago posed significant safety risks and logistical challenges. The events in the city leading up to the race only amplified these concerns. Plus, we can not forget about NASCAR’s 5o Million investment being cut short to 75 laps. However, Kenny Wallace dismissed the naysayers and commended NASCAR for pushing boundaries and reinventing the sport.

In a recent YouTube video, the former NASCAR driver expressed his unwavering support for the Chicago Street course race, a controversial event that nearly derailed NASCAR’s ambitious plans.

Kenny Wallace calls out “Whiners” and “Complainers”

Wallace began his video by addressing the skeptics head-on, stating, “All right, let’s get into it right away—the Chicago Street course race. All right, let’s start out like this. The herminators got drawings. You see this? These are the people that are smarter than you and me. These are leaders, these are smart people. See all these people? That’s you and me. We’re dumb.”

With a touch of humor, Wallace emphasized the disparity between fans’ apprehensions and the vision of NASCAR’s leadership as he said, “Leaders do things that’s why they own companies, it’s why they’re smarter than us remember, this is all of us we’re all the people we’re the complainers and whiners all right”

The former driver also acknowledged the sentimental value attached to the “old days” of NASCAR, citing the loss of legendary drivers like Dale Earnhardt Sr, his own father, and others who have retired. However, he stressed the importance of embracing the new era and trusting the decisions made by NASCAR’s leaders, even when they may not align with fans’ preferences.

Wallace applauded NASCAR’s adaptability in the face of adversity. Despite a severe storm that wreaked havoc in the Midwest, the organizers persevered and managed to conduct qualifying sessions and complete both the Xfinity and Cup series races. He added, “We’re in a new era and the leaders are listening to all of you all of you don’t know what you want you really don’t, so this Chicago Street course race was a grand slam not even a home run there are a couple of holdouts that I see on social media that are just mad because it was a success”

While some die-hard fans continued to voice their dissatisfaction with NASCAR’s direction, Wallace urged them to appreciate the showmanship and excitement that the Chicago Street course race brought to the sport. He concluded, “NASCAR sucks? No, don’t. You’re mad because it was such a great show.”
