A while back, Dale Earnhardt Jr and Kyle Busch’s rivalry was definitely the talk of the town. However, over the years, the two of them resolved their feud and developed an amicable relationship. But who would have thought that Kyle Busch would one day make a bizarre request to Earnhardt Jr. about his own brother?

On September 9, 2022, Earnhardt Jr shared a tweet with an image of a tree, followed by a finger directing to a magic 8 ball. And speculations regarding Busch joining RCR surfaced on the internet. But no official announcement regarding the same had been made till then. And this sent Busch into a frenzy.

Panicked that the cat is out of the bag, Busch called Earnhardt and made a bizarre request. He asked Earnhardt to post another tweet so that everyone might think that it was just a conjecture.

Talking about the incident, Earnhardt Jr said in the Dale Jr Download podcast, “So I’m like okay what Tweet do you want me to send. So, he came up with the basketball Tweet to sort of throw people off. At some point, there was probably some conversations between him and 23XI about driving a number 32 car.”

Following this, Earnhardt Jr posted another tweet with 23 basketballs in it. But now it is clear what conspired behind the scenes. Further, Earnhardt Jr shared what shocking thing Busch initially wanted him to post. He said; “Actually, he told me. he’s like send the tweet with me going to the 45 car and I said well that’s your brother’s car, let’s not do that.

But despite the bizarre request Busch made, he shared that he sought advice from his brother before joining RCR.

However, Kyle Busch’s recent revelation about his decision was something that Earnhardt didn’t expect after Busch’s bizarre request. In a recent conversation on SiriusXM NASCAR, Kyle Busch hinted that he took advice about changing teams from his brother, Kurt Busch as well as Earnhardt Jr.

He said, “You know my brother was definitely one that I leaned on and talked to. I took some advice from him as he’s made this transition between teams before. And so I felt like just kind of getting a sense from him would be a good place to start.”

Further, he shared that he asked Dale Earnhardt Jr for advice. And revealed; “As as well as, you know, the sport’s most popular driver was definitely one of the guys that I kind of leaned on for advice as well too. I guess past most popular driver. Yeah, that one not the current one (laughs).”
