Contrary to the fuel-saving affair of the Cup race, the Xfinity race at Talladega Superspeedway was marred by crashes. The two largest wrecks involved a total of 20 cars and eliminated most leaders. These happened toward the end of the race. Earlier, however, a veteran Xfinity driver was taken out of contention, in a spine-chilling crash.

JR MotorsportsJustin Allgaier was a force to reckon with at first, burning rubber in the top five. But at the end of stage 1, the No. 7 Chevrolet slammed head-first into the wall, drawing concern from the DBC guys.

Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Xfinity star was progressively picking up momentum in 2024. After a 28th-place finish in Atlanta, Justin Allgaier carved out a path toward Victory Lane. His efforts culminated in a podium finish in Texas. However, little did he know that his worst finish of this season lay ahead of him.

Following an impressive run in the first stage, Allgaier exited Turn 2. That was the moment when everybody in the pack became active. Riley Herbst came before Justin Allgaier, who got loose and went spinning into the wall. The video of this ordeal gave chills even to the ‘Door Bumper Clear’ guys.

On a fresh episode, the DBC hosts broached the Allgaier fiasco. Brett Griffin narrated how his daughter gasped in shock. “We saw Justin Allgaier this past week at Pisces, having sushi with me and my girls. I sent them that clip of the wreck and my girl Key was like, ‘Oh my gosh, did he die?’ Because that was a nasty wreck…He immediately dropped his window net, that was a scary one to watch.”

Then T.J. Majors said how Allgaier’s crash, which could have turned really dangerous, was helped by NASCAR’s meticulous efforts. “It was good to see him…there’s been hundreds of wrecks these guys get out of, thankfully. They do a really good job…You could see the SAFER barrier there, and they do everything they can to keep these places as safe as they can.”

NASCAR fans are well aware of the DBC logo: the silhouetted blue outlines of three of the co-hosts. And that cool logo had once found its way to the bumper of the No. 7 Chevrolet of Justin Allgaier. DBC had sponsored Allgaier’s car for the 2022 Xfinity race at Dover Motor Speedway.

Considering that DBC had already bloomed into one of motorsport’s most popular podcasts, the alliance was fitting. Justin Allgaier was then the reigning NXS Most Popular Driver. He had upheld DBC’s popularity. “Being a guest on the show yesterday and making this announcement was a lot of fun,” said Allgaier. “It’s really cool to see the growth of all the Dirty Mo podcasts over the last couple years.”

With the blessings of the DBC guys, Justin Allgaier can now prepare for his 2024 run at Dover Motor Speedway.
