NASCAR fans finally got to witness the Great American Race with all the drama and action. The Daytona 500 first phase ended with a lot of surprises. While it was a win for Ricky Stenhouse Jr, it was Kyle Busch who had hard luck again in his 18th Daytona 500 race. And his teammate Austin Dillion had a particular rival to blame for it to some extent.

The race started pretty well for Rowdy as he overtook Brad Keselowski with just five laps to go. But Daniel Suarez slammed the wall and led to the caution with just two laps to go. Due to the caution and the race going into overtime, eventually, Keselowski made it to the top ten. but all the drama on the tracks led to Busch getting left behind though he was leading Keselowski earlier.

In a post-race interview with Frontstretch’s Jared Haas, Austin Dillion said that he really wanted to help Rowdy to get to the victory lane but it was not possible due to all the action. He said, “We had a strategy there and it just didn’t play out. We weren’t as good as some of the Fords being able to tandem and get hooked up. The #6 car just drove through the #24 and it’s kind of what he does.

“His car is good enough, he can just drive through whoever he needs to and push them out of the way or wreck them. That’s the desperation they’re in right now. so yeah I hate it because I was really wanting to get Kyle Bush to the Victory Lane here at the Daytona 500.”
