Despite the heartbreaks and pit-lane woes at Richard Childress Racing, 2-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch takes no time from dad duties. In fact, it is the Cup Series driver who is the guiding light of his son, Brexton Busch, leading him on the way to becoming a successful and talented driver.

Even with all the issues at RCR that eventually got the driver off the rhythm, Busch recently took his 8-year-old for a drive where the father and son got into a guessing game.

Soon, fellow NASCAR driver and legendary Supercar champion, Shane Van Gisbergen aka SVG chimed in with a humble response in a typical Aussie way, solving the dilemma like a gentleman.

SVG drops in with a confirmation, ending Kyle Bush and his son’s predicament

Busch despite his jam-packed schedule went for a driver with his 8-year-old son. On the way, the father and son came across an old Chevy El Camino SS, seeing which Busch immediately asked his son, if it was a car or a truck. The young Busch, without any second thoughts said, “Truck.”

While the racer took up the banter, arguing that it was a car, the answer from the owner confirmed it was “both” a truck and a car. With Busch dropping the clip on his social media, fellow NASCAR driver, SVG dropped his verdict, commenting, “It’s a Ute mate.”

The El Camino was Chevrolet’s response to Ford’s Ranchero, a utility coupe that was dominating the market in the late 60s. The Chevy counterpart slowly started eating away Ford’s market share as later generations of the coupe bumped up the power figures, tuning and churning out more horsepower from the big block V8.

Thus came the El Camino SS which was a sportier version of the utility vehicle, aimed at performance enthusiasts. Despite being almost 50 years old, the SuperSport variant of the El Camino is still a collectible car in the eyes of ardent auto enthusiasts. Now with Busch sharing the clip on his social media, fans bombarded the post, sharing their takes.

One user noted, “It’s an El Camino lol,” in response to Busch’s question to his son.

Another fan pointed out Brexton’s response when Busch pulled up to the car and straight away asked the driver – “‘Dad, don’t do that.’ – not even KFB is immune to kids’ embarrassment of their parents.”

Seeing the reaction of the driver who did not recognize the NASCAR superstar, one fan commented, “Guy probably doesn’t even know who just asked him that,” while another user mentioned what they would call it in Arizona – “In Arizona it’s the parts mobile.”
