After quite a bit of back-and-forth, Niece Motorsports made it official in 2023 that Lawless Alan was set to be back behind the wheel of the #45 Chevrolet Silverado RST for the full 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. Remember how he dipped his toes in the waters with a part-time schedule in 2021 and even snagged Rookie of the Year honors? Well, 2023 didn’t quite follow the same script for him.

His run in the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck season wasn’t exactly what you’d call a home run. With an average finish hovering around 22.3 and just a single top-10 finish to his name, the end result was him parting ways with Niece Motorsports for the 2024 season. But don’t count him out just yet. Even though he might not be donning the Niece Motorsports colors next year, it doesn’t mean he’s hanging up his racing gloves. As per his latest Twitter post, NASCAR fans would see him revving up on the track in 2024, just maybe with a different team.

After the parting announcement came, Lawless Alan confirmed he’s still coming back in 2024

When the news broke that Lawless Alan and Niece Motorsports were going their separate ways, everyone was buzzing, thinking Alan might sit out the 2024 season. But, surprise, surprise! Alan hopped onto Twitter, dropping a hint that he’s not done yet. He teased, “You’ll still be seeing me in 24🤫,” alongside a snap of his laptop with an “Own the outdoors with Craftsman” screensaver. Though he’s keeping mum about which team he’ll join in 2024, it’s clear he’s not ready to put the brakes on his racing career just yet.

During his two-year stint, Alan managed to snag three top-15 finishes, including a personal best of P10 at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2023. Despite this split, Niece Motorsports isn’t slowing down either. They’ve confirmed the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado will be back in full force in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series next year, with details on the new driver and crew to follow.

On top of that, Niece Motorsports is revving up with Bayley Currey in the No. 41 and Matt Mills in the No. 42, both set for a full season in 2024. But evidently, not all fans are thrilled about Alan’s comeback. Seems like there are mixed feelings in the stands about what’s next for him.

NASCAR fans criticize Lawless Alan ahead of his 2024 Truck season

When NASCAR fans caught wind of Lawless Alan announcing his return to the Truck series in 2024, they swarmed Reddit to let loose a barrage of criticism. One fan took a jab at his previous ARCA season with a quip, “I saw full time Arca. I forget with who though.” Another, skeptical about Alan’s decision to return after a less-than-stellar season, dryly commented, “This is a threat, right?”

Considering Alan’s past rivalry with Hailie Deegan, one observer remarked to the threat comment bashing Alan even more- “Hailee isn’t in the field so not anymore.” One fan hoping Lawless Alan doesn’t come back, asserted, “God I hope not. That kid doesn’t have the talent to run top 5 without wrecking somebody else on the process.”

Alan’s history of DNFs and wrecks didn’t escape mockery either. One fan predicted, “We’ll look for you whenever the first caution of a race comes out!” while another simply stated, “Weekly caution is back!” Responding to Alan’s cryptic post, (You’ll still be seeing me in 24🤫), one fan replied, “That’s unfortunate,” and another succinctly added, “Bummer.”
