In fact, Trump even made a funny remark about the father and son who endorsed him for being the President of the country, which he ended up becoming, eventually.

“Are you gonna be upset if he turns out greater than you Bill or are you gonna be happy?” Trump said, to which Elliott said he’d be “thrilled” if that turns out to be the case.

“That’s a good father,” Trump emphasized.

“I know a lot of fathers who have a son that becomes successful, they’re not happy,” he continued, “That’s a great father.”

Trump then welcomed Elliott as he said, “Chase Elliott, the hottest young driver in the world!”

Bill Elliott amazed by how time flew for him and Chase Elliott

In a recent interview, Bill Elliott opened up on his amazement at how quickly the time flew for him and his son, how he grew up, and his favorite memories of them.

“It’s how fast things go,” Bill Elliott said. “I’m in Victory Lane at Indy in 2002 and now here you are 20 years later and here he is grown and doing his own thing.”

“Life goes by so fast.”

The elder Eliott said the “most fun times” they had together were when they were in Colorado and young Chase Elliott was racing in go-karts.

“It was just kind of a great time. I think it was a fun series we ran. There wasn’t a lot of pressure. I kind of still see him in that. Times have gone on, he’s grown up and he’s his own person,” ge added.
