23XI Racing came into NASCAR only recently, being among the youngest teams on the track. But its youth should not be mistaken for lack of quality. With Denny Hamlin on the ownership table and Bubba Wallace in the car, the team has a lot of potential going ahead.

The Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin team came to NASCAR in 2020. It started competing in the Cup Series and has completed 2 full seasons in the competition. While all hasn’t gone its way, the team has gathered 4 wins over its tenure in the sport.

On objective assessment, it isn’t too difficult to say that racing isn’t their best feature yet. It is still a novice team, lacking the technical expertise or experience. 23XI Racing is in the process of finding its feet.

But there’s one part that it has excelled in – popularity. With MJ, Hamlin, and Bubba Wallace, the team has one of the strongest pulls in terms of fans as well as sponsorship potential. And it shows! DoorDash, Columbia Sportswear, and the Jordan brand are some of the biggest names backing the team.

In a video released by their sponsor DoorDash, they had Bubba paired up with Miami Heat‘s Udonis Haslem. Opening a gift, Bubba Wallace said, “Alright, so we have some surprise for me, I guess from DoorDash and Udonis Haslem. Maybe Miami Heats stuff. So let’s check it out!”

“Ooooh, NICE!,” Bubba exclaimed as he saw his name ‘Wallace’ and number ‘23’ printed on the back of the jersey. “There we go… I’ve been a part of the DoorDash family for a couple of years. Nice to have Udonis join. And I appreciate this gift. This is awesome.”

The team may not have reached where it wants to in terms of racing, but having strong sponsorship deals always helps in the long run.
