“Drivers! Start your engines!” NASCAR fans eagerly await to hear these goosebumps-inducing commands, accompanied by the thunderous roar of engines coming to life. Grand Marshals kicking off the races with their invigorating commands has been a long-standing tradition at NASCAR. Over the years, many celebrities and comics like Adam Sandler and Kevin James have donned the Grand Marshal cap.

Adam Devine takes an unorthodox route to honor NASCAR tradition at Sonoma

The 2023 NASCAR season started off with an unforgettable Grand Marshal lineup for the Daytona 500. Richard “The King” Petty, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, and Kurt Busch, among others, were a part of the Grand Marshal group, who together delivered the command to drivers. By inviting the greats from past decades to celebrate its 75th anniversary, NASCAR made the event in Daytona a memorable one for the young and the old alike. However, the complementary event in Sonoma wouldn’t be fading from memory anytime soon either—Adam Devine made sure of that.

Hilarious would be the apt word to describe Adam Devine’s Sonoma antics. Breaking off from the traditional leaderlike announcement, Devine chose a “seen-never-before” comical element to deliver the command. Taking off his sunglasses in typical Jim Carrey-like fashion, an energetic Devine delivered a rib-tickling Grand Marshal command. He then leaped off the stage, faking a bump into camera personnel. Safe to say the one-off performance was quite uproarious.

While the $8-million-worth Hollywood star is gearing up for the launch of his Netflix movie, The Outlaws, his exaggerated antics in Sonoma too have amused quite a lot of fans.
