In a surprising piece of news, former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr has revealed that he is a gamer. The former Hendrick Motorsports driver admitted that he enjoys gaming, especially PC gaming.

He said, “This hobby started back in the mid-90s. I learned over the years how to upgrade hardware. I’d never built my own PC though. I built one this week and really enjoyed it. It went really smooth but I don’t mind that occasional hiccup.”

According to the 46-year-old, the IT field feels like a fun profession. Dale Earnhardt Jr revealed that he quite enjoys finding technical gremlins and helping others with their systems.

He even confessed that if the racing gig did not work out, he would love to be in the IT sector. Earnhardt insisted that technology’s evolution ensures that everyone keeps learning and anticipating what’s next.

However, it is interesting to note that he could have explored different career paths. At one point in time, Dale Jr almost became an artist instead of a racing driver.

In fact, his father, Dale Earnhardt Sr tried to convince him to take art classes. However, Dale Jr was insistent that racing was the primary career path for him. Despite the heavy resistance, Dale Jr never lost his touch and would do occasional doodles. Aside from his current gig in the commentary booth, Dale Jr also manages his Xfinity Racing team, JR Motorsports.
