May 21st is the day that NASCAR set aside for the All-Star Race where the sound of engines revving will echo throughout the historic track of North Wilkesboro Speedway for the first time for this event. For the 39th All-Star event, the legendary driver, Kevin Harvick, now representing Stewart-Haas Racing, is all set to take the wheel of a No. 29 Ford.

His start in the NASCAR Cup was in a No. 29 Chevy for Richard Childress Racing, although the number was not his preferred choice. He debuted in 2001, taking over the car that was previously driven by the legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr. who passed away tragically on the last lap of the Daytona 500 that same year.

With him all excited to take part in the historic event, Harvick uploaded a picture on Instagram of the nostalgic color scheme of his car for the race. He captioned the post, “One more time in the 29.”

The picture even had NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace comment, “This is damn cool!!!!!” and MMA Fighter Donald Cerrone write, “Hell yes.”

This, indeed, is great news for NASCAR fans who are looking forward to seeing Harvick’s iconic number 29 car on the track one last time.

Kevin Harvick’s last ride: A look back at his dominance in the #29 car

With the All-Star Race planned to take place at North Wilkesboro, a place with a ton of history, Harvick and his team thought it made sense to highlight where it all started. “With this being my last year as a Cup Series driver, we wanted to highlight a lot of these moments, and many were made at RCR in that 29 car,” said Harvick, as per stewarthaasracing.com.

Harvick’s story with the No. 29 ride started with a sensational triumph against Jeff Gordon in a nail-biting finish at Atlanta, where he earned his first-ever Cup win in his third race. From then on, for a remarkable span of 13 seasons, Harvick dominated the track and bagged 23 out of his 60 career victories with the No. 29 machine.
