One of the most frustrating things as a motorsports fan watching the race at home is that one has to be completely reliant on the TV director. Broadcasts across all forms of motorsports have faced issues with this, missing out on showing important moments in the event, and FOX Sports has been consistently doing so. That is exactly what happened during the Martinsville NASCAR Cup Series race, and fans are irate.

Brad Keselowski was involved in an unaired overtime incident

There was an overtime crash involving three cars, but fans never got to see it as the cameras focused on the leaders of the race. The caution flag came out for a second before green flag racing was resumed. This was because there was no serious incident, thankfully, and it was the last lap of the race.

A lot of users found out about the incident thanks to Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing’s official X account. It turns out that former Cup Series champion and veteran race car driver Brad Keselowski was one of the drivers involved in the incident. The team uploaded a picture of the #6 car with the right front wheel missing. The caption to it read, “So apparently Brad was in that OT wreck.”

NASCAR fans are known the world over to be one of the most passionate and vocal fans of any sport, and this time they were not happy at all. It did not take them long to make their opinions crystal clear on social media.

FOX, being the network broadcasting these races at the moment, certainly got a fiery reaction from the fans. “No replay from the shams of @NASCARONFOX once again. Even tho bowyer/harvick mentioned it,” one user commented.

“Too bad it wasn’t broadcast on TV where they could have shown it @NASCARONFOX,” quipped another fan.

One fan, who was closely following the action, said that there was no announcement regarding why that caution came out, as it wasn’t even announced. Probably because it went back to green flag conditions within a matter of seconds. “Didn’t even see this one tv nor was it announced what the caution was for,” they wrote.

Another fan reminisced about the good ol’ days when NASCAR broadcasting was apparently a lot better than it is today. “Remember when there was good broadcast coverage and replays of what happened everywhere,” they wrote.

And of course, there were some fans who decided to go the sarcastic route. “We wouldn’t know, would we @NASCARONFOX,” one user commented. “Great work, @NASCARONFOX,” quipped another.

Hopefully, FOX Sports will take their lesson from this debacle and do a better job next weekend. Most fans watch races from the comfort of their homes, and it is extremely unfair to them if they miss out on important on-track incidents.
