In the unforgiving arena of NASCAR, where dreams are born and shattered in the blink of an eye, Brad Keselowski has become a living testament to resilience. The AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway appeared to be his moment of redemption—a chance to transform a nightmare season into something positive. Starting from the back of the pack at 36th position, Brad Keselowski began weaving through the field with precision. He was gaining on the race leader, Chase Elliott, but just when things were starting to look good for the RFK Racing driver, things started to go downhill.

With just 72 laps remaining, disaster struck. Keselowski’s No. 6 Ford, which had been a rocket ship climbing through the field, suddenly lost a tire entering Turn 1. The resulting crash ended what could have been a career-defining moment, leaving him with a 37th-place finish. This was the third race in a row where Keselowski ended with a DNF, a trend that started at Talladega, and it doesn’t seem to end for the #6 team.

If we are to compare his statistics from 2024, it goes on to show that the veteran driver had hit a huge slump, and unfortunately, he hasn’t had a chance to recover from it. After 12 races last year, the driver of the #6 Ford Mustang had notched up four top 5 finishes, which included two runner-up finishes at Texas and Talladega. He bagged his first win on the 13th attempt at Darlington, but in 2025, things are looking dull for Keselowski. And there’s a possibility he might not make it to the playoffs.

For some fans, there was more than just luck involved in Keselowski’s streak of bad runs, especially with the crash at Kansas. They argued that the driver was jinxed by Kevin Harvick and the FOX team just as he was starting to make strides towards the win. Things got serious, so much so that Harvick had to defend himself on his podcast. “Hey, don’t blame me… I was trying to give the guy some love, and mid-sentence we backed into the fence off four.” But, the good news for the fans is that the #6 team isn’t going to bow out without a fight.

Twelve races into the 2025 Cup Series season, the statistics tell a brutal story. Brad Keselowski remains without a top-ten finish, with an average finish of 26.27—the worst 10-race stretch in his 17-year Cup racing career. The reunion with Jeremy Bullins, his former Team Penske crew chief, has yet to yield the magic of previous seasons. Yet, in a testament to his championship spirit, Brad Keselowski remains defiant. “I’m really proud of this 6 team and the speed we had today, including our pit crew. We’re gaining on it… even though the results aren’t showing. I’m excited for what we’ve got for the 600. #6NeverQuits.” He wrote on X.

Well, the fans have been riding behind Brad Keselowski and his team. And despite the streak of mishaps and disappointment, they believe that the #6 Ford Mustang will soon be back in the victory lane.

Fans rally behind Brad Keselowski despite his poor run of form

“It was genuinely heartbreaking to see you get to 2nd, make pace on chase, and blow a tire,” one fan wrote, capturing the collective sentiment. There were concerns regarding the speed of the #6 car coming into the season. Without a single top 10 run to show for in 12 races, this was the first time that Keselowski had race-contending pace, and he was right up there battling against the top dogs. But the tire troubles proved detrimental to his hopes of a comeback.

Another fan’s comment captured the emotional rollercoaster: “Thought it was gonna be your day. You were doing great right up till the end. Can’t wait to see what you do in the 600.” Interestingly, last year this was the time when Keselowski started to hit his stride after the win at Darlington. A runner-up finish at Charlotte, followed by a P3 result at Gateway, essentially helped him become a serious contender in the playoffs. With the Coca-Cola 600 up next on the schedule, fans think that he will rise to the occasion and script a comeback story.

The personal connections run deep. A fan who once disliked Keselowski wrote, “As a Jeff Gordon fan I used to dislike you, but hell am I pulling for you now.” Well, we all know what happened during the Texas Brawl back in 2014, and this fan clearly is a Gordon and a Chevy fan. But despite his allegiance, he believes that Keselowski has been awfully unlucky this season, and if there’s one driver who needs to catch a good break, it is the RFK Racing co-owner.

There were a few suggestions that Keselowski might do well with a change of face at the top of the #6 pit box. Now, it is hard to find a good option for a crew chief mid-season, but with Rodney Childers and Spire Motorsports ending their adventure, there’s a possibility that this link-up could become a reality. “Man, you need @RodneyChilders4 on the pit box ASAP. When a pattern, good or bad, has been established, believe it. Don’t be afraid to make a change.”

Well, it is hard to predict how different the next quarter of the season will look for Brad Keselowski and his team. With just 14 points-paying races remaining in the regular season, they will need to act soon.
