Fans Urge NASCAR to “Stop Being Idiots Until Someone Dies” as Scary New Footage of the Big One at Daytona Emerges

The rain-induced wreck at Daytona in the recent NASCAR Cup Series, was arguably one of the worst big ones in recent memory. It was pure carnage and pure chaos as a number of cars got tangled, leading to a lot of criticism.

Criticism that centered around the impact-taking abilities of the new Next Gen car along with the decision-making of the officials in calling out a caution under the weather the race was at right before the wreck.

Anyway, the severity and the intensity of the incident were very evident from the replays on the broadcast that showed it from several angles. However, a new angle just surfaced, which shows the wreck from the bumper of one of the racecars.

And this led to NASCAR fans heavily criticizing the sport for the Next Gen car’s safety as the driver could be seen “pinballing” inside their cars.

NASCAR spotter feels more could’ve been done as the scary pattern continues

In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, spotter Brett Griffin, called out NASCAR for not doing enough or at least, not doing things in time as the rain came down at Daytona International Speedway leading to one of the worst big ones in recent memory.

“They could have had a weatherman, a weather person, a meteorologist, a weather woman sitting in the booth with them in the middle of all this Florida weather they could have advised them, they could have literally taken the liability off their shoulders,” he said.

“Meteorologist Freddie Kraft has advised us that rain is too close in the area and as a result, we’re gonna suspend the race right now to wait and see what happens with these pop-up showers.”

The spotter then mentioned how it’s been the third year in a row how a race leader has wrecked under circumstances similar to what we saw recently at Daytona – “Texas 2020, New Hampshire 2021, Daytona 2022.”
