In a recent episode of NASCAR Next Now, Kyle Larson revealed his experiences while running in the top lane. And also shared how Kyle Busch coached him on running the high line. However, the funniest part of the clip shared by NASCAR was the time when Larson realized who he wrecked around a decade ago.

During the conversation, Ryan Blaney pointed out that Larson has redefined the Top Lane and made it what it is today. Explaining his thoughts on the topic, the #5 Chevrolet driver reminisced about a 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in Canada.

He said; “So, when I ran in 2012, we were in Canada. I ran four truck races that year. I ran Homestead and I remember, I thought I was running the top.” But even before Larson could finish, Bubba Wallace pointed out; “You were second to Kyle.”

Trying to remember the details of the race, Larson shook his head and continued; “Yeah, I crashed, I think.” And just then, the co-host of the show, Mamba Smith interjected and pointed out that Larson wrecked Ty Dillon in that race down the backstretch.

And what ensued after that was hilarious. As soon as Bubba Wallace heard about the wreck, he got excited as he remembered another important detail. Pointing at Ryan Blaney, Wallace said “Oh, yeah! And it got him!” Acknowledging that Wallace’s memory has not failed him Blaney said: “F**k, yes it did. I appreciate that. (laughing)”

Hearing this, Kyle Larson chuckled and shouted over the laughter of his co-drivers; “It was you, It was you. Okay, I remember.” Remembering the crash, Blaney could not stop laughing and said that he doesn’t know how he managed to get out safely from that crash.

What happened with Kyle Larson at Homestead?

James Buescher won the 2012 Camping World Truck Series race at Homestead. However, the other incident that made it to the headlines was the Ty Dillon and Kyle Larson wreck. The wreck also affected Ryan Blaney’s race.

Dillon was running at the second position when Kyle Larson’s truck made contact with him. Racing hard to overtake Dillon, Larson did not expect this to happen during his race. But due to the impact of the crash, both the trucks slammed into the wall.

And unfortunately, the wreck collected Ryan Blaney and sent him right into the outside wall. Blaney’s car caught fire and Larson received a lot of criticism for racing too hard during the race.
