Kanaan, who is at present in his last NTT IndyCar Series season, is the second affirmed driver to contend in the mid-year arrangement.

In spite of the fact that he will step away from the arrangement after 2020, he isn’t precluding one-off runs on occasions like the Indianapolis 500.

The 2004 victor completed eighteenth and eleventh in the arrangement’s Iowa 250s doubleheader a weekend ago. He has sixteen IndyCar Series triumphs, including the 2013 Indy 500.

NBC reports, Kanaan said: “My idea was to slow down a bit. I can assure you I don’t think I’ll be competing on a full championship again in IndyCar, but I never said I’m going away.”

The 2004 IndyCar champion has 16 triumphs and 72 podium finishes all throughout his career.

NASCAR Hall of Fame individuals Tony Stewart and Ray Evernham shaped SRX, in which Stewart himself will contend. It will include six short track races. Moreover, Evernham will structure the vehicles to feature the drivers’ abilities.

SRX will announce further drivers sometime in the future. However, the arrangement uncovered on Twitter that three others have just been secured. The series was unveiled on 13th July. SRX announced the arrival of Tony Kanaan on Twitter.

They wrote, “#DriverAnnouncement: Excited to officially welcome @TonyKanaan to the @SRXracing family!”
