Former Nascar Driver Michael Waltrip Posting Odd Tweets Raises Eyebrows

Former NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip has been known to be quite active on Twitter. Waltrip raced for the last time in 2017 after a 30-plus year career. He has also been a former commentator and is a pre-race analyst for the NASCAR Cup Series.

Unusual Tweets from Michael Waltrip

But the former Daytona 500 champion posted a couple of unusual Tweets on his Twitter account recently that raised quite a few eyebrows.

His first Tweet read, “I saw a girl I use to date. Our relationship did not end great. I wished her a happy belated birthday. She said my birthday is next week a***ole. I said I meant for the one from last year.”

He followed it up with the next tweet that said, “I feel like every ex makes me a better next. So hit me up if you’re interested.”

A look back at Waltrip’s career

Michael Waltrip is the younger brother of three-time NASCAR champion Darrell Waltrip. He also raced in the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series during his racing days.

Last year, Michael Waltrip was involved in another controversy on Twitter. Back then, he had blocked former NASCAR driver and reporter Kenny Wallace on the social media platform as they had suffered a disagreement.

In the 90s and early 2000s, Waltrip was also involved in feuds with fellow racers such as Dave Marcis, Lake Speed, Jeff Green, and Robby Gordon.

Waltrip began his career at the age of 15. He made his debut in NASCAR in a Cup Series race in 1985. That race was won by his brother Darrell Waltrip. He was part of the Cup Series and lower series for the rest of the 80s and 90s.

At one point, he also had the longest streak without a victory in the Cup Series – 462 races. That streak finally came to an end after he won the Daytona 500 in 2001.

The junior Waltrip brother, Michael, later went on to win the Daytona 500 for a second time two years later.
