A couple of days ago, Denny Hamlin and NBA legend, Michael Jordan teamed up to set up a NASCAR team. They even recruited Bubba Wallace as their driver for the single-car team.
In light of this news, fellow former NBA player, Brad Daugherty spoke about the revelation. In conversation with SiriusXM Radio, the part owner of JTG Daugherty Racing admitted that he was keen to see Bubba Wallace’s progress. He said, “I pull for Bubba, I want him to be successful. I think he’s accomplished a lot, I want to see him accomplish a lot more.”

What else did Daugherty say about Bubba Wallace?
Michael Jordan clearly wanted to give Wallace the opportunity to become a successful African-American driver. Daugherty respected that notion and also believes that Jordan and Wallace can do it. He acknowledged that the road less traveled will not be easy, but he has faith in Jordan to support Bubba Wallace. However, the JTG Daugherty owner cautioned that Jordan must stick around in the long term to see this project take off.
Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin will be focusing on guiding Wallace down the correct path. Wallace will essentially be learning his craft and understanding how to implement all that he has learned.

Daugherty confessed, “I’m pulling for these guys, even though we want to beat them on the racetrack… We’ll help those guys in any way possible because we want them to be successful.”
For the moment, Daugherty, Denny Hamlin, and Bubba Wallace are focusing on the current season. For Hamlin, this is doubly important, as he is battling Kevin Harvick for the 2020 Cup Series championship.
