Frankie Muniz’s struggles in Xfinity have been no secret. It’s been such poor runs for him that memes now flood the socials. He has had only three starts this season in Xfinity and in all three, lady luck didn’t side with him. And at this point, anyone’s confidence can take a hit. Ahead of the race at Nashville, he admitted that the year has been a far cry from fun so far.

But as they say, if one door closes, another opens. And it seems that Muniz might just have found a new door to explore! Pointing towards his heart, “Malcolm in the Middle” star said that even though his result in his debut at the Truck Series might not be great—to him, it feels great.

Frankie Muniz’s tough race at Nashville, but his optimism shines through

Frankie Muniz is an actor turned car driver, and the first time he was behind the wheel of a race war was in 2004 when he was part of the Toyota Pro/ Celebrity race. And something must have clicked because three years later, he was professionally racing. This season must be his career low. He has had just three NASCAR Xfinity starts, and they all fell flat.

Amongst his three starts, one was in the ARCA Menards Series. Then two with the Emerling-Gase Motorsports in the Xfinity Series, but he failed, unable to finish both the events at Daytona and Phoenix. He also attempted at Portland, but as lady luck would have it, he missed the show because he blew over an engine during practice. Everything looked amiss for him. In fact, the truck race at Nashville wasn’t any better. It was Muniz’s debut race in the Rackley Roofing 200 and he was racing for the Reaume Brothers Racing. But while everything was going great for a while, his truck began to overheat and this led his truck to veer behind the wall. He finished the race in 31st place, 20 laps down, but Muniz has no complaints.

Wonder why?

After the race, he answered why he is more optimistic than disappointed. He said, “Sure, like on paper. It doesn’t look like it probably was great, I don’t even know where I finished. Doesn’t matter, that’s what I needed, just wanted to run with people and I was battling with people most of the race. So that felt good just to kinda feel like I could still run with the other guys. But a lot of work to do, a lot to learn this is the first of many.”

For someone eager to make their mark, even small achievements can feel significant, and this was his. He even enjoyed the fact that he could do a pit stop. He said, “You know I did pit stops today, I haven’t gotten to do many of that this year, which is my first year doing them.” Well, if he’s confident, things might just turn around for the best. Meanwhile, Skewcar’s latest comment about his race — poking fun at his overheating truck—had the internet talking!

Did Skewcar just take a dig at Frankie Muniz?

Have you heard about the “hwah tuah” meme? This meme went viral on social after a girl made the “hawk tuah” sound imitating a spit. And well, Skewcar found the best time to use the meme! According to Skewcar, the water spraying out of the cooling unit on the hood of Muniz’s truck made a loud “hwah tuah” sound. Skewcar wrote, “Frankie Muniz got that Hawk Tuah going on”. Of course, NASCAR fans couldn’t hold back their reactions.

With all of Muniz’s runs ending in disaster this year, the issues continued in his debut truck race. One fan commented, “It’s always something with Frankie Muniz—he literally has no luck.” Echoing this statement, another fan said, “Bummer @frankiemuniz that sucks!”

Even though this is only Muniz’s debut in Xfinity this year, Frank Muniz has not been taking things lightly. Sharing how he sees his season, he said, “Is year has not been the most fun for me as far as racing goes. I don’t think I learned anything in the few Xfinity races I did. It was a learning experience in the fact that I just had to learn how to be out of the way. It was eye-opening. It wasn’t fun.”

While this truck race with him finishing in 31st is not the best right now, his solace might be that he was able to pit, race along with the others, and finish the race. And as far as proving himself in the truck races go, he still has chances. He will compete next at the ARCA Series in Michigan on August 16th. Then he will race in Bristol on September 19th and in Kansas on September 27th.
