During the practice session in Richmond, Bubba Wallace added yet another clip to his growing season highlight of disappointing moments. However, his spotter’s recent comments suggest that the No.23 driver wasn’t entirely at fault in that instance.

In the recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Freddie Kraft touched upon the spin in practice.

“I guess, we were catching Ricky (Stenhouse Jr.) and he was struggling a little bit,” the spotter said. “And Ricky was letting us go but never pointed, like you know the way these guys point at each other like, ‘Hey, I’m gonna give you the bottom here.'”

Kraft revealed his driver told him how Stenhouse Jr “checked up early,” something that almost made them run “up his a**.”

“So Bubba just jumped on the brakes and hooked the thing to the left to avoid Ricky.”

Who is the worst critic of Bubba Wallace?

In an interview with CBS News, Bubba Wallace once addressed the issue of being too hard on himself. But along with that, the 23XI Racing hopes he is getting better than how he used to be in the past.

“I am my own worst critic,” Wallace said. “You know, when I make a mistake, I’m super hard on myself. And sometimes it’s okay to have a little bit of self-motivation, but when you stoop as low as I do, it’s tough to climb back out of.”

The Talladega winner continued, “I think I’ve graduated from that point in my life hopefully.”

According to Bubba Wallace, only a “big enough mistake,” will be enough to tell him that he hasn’t made any progress in that regard.
