Friends just become foes in the NASCAR circuit last week. The tussle between Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin has brought an interesting turn to the 2023 season. Despite being good friends off-track, the two have been at each other’s throats for the last week.

It all started at Pocono after Hamlin ended up making contact with Larson while contesting for the lead of the race in the final lap of the race. A usual calm Larson was seen throwing jabs at Hamlin. However, Larson claimed that Hamlin’s comments during the last week have left him even more frustrated than he was before.

“A win was taken!”: Kyle Larson blamed Denny Hamlin for stealing his win

Last weekend, the Pocono 400 gave Denny Hamlin his 50th win at the cost of a dent in his friendship with Kyle Larson. Larson expressed his frustration right after getting out of his car. He also predicted that Hamlin might say something during the weekend that will eventually end up making him more frustrated.

He was very accurate with his prediction. Hamlin who felt that he didn’t do anything wrong didn’t take any of the criticism being projected toward him. Instead, he blamed Larson for crashing the car. The statement was akin to taking salt to the wounds of Larson and his fans.

Larson who kept his calm during the week, finally let it all out after the qualifying yesterday. When he was asked that did Hamlin’s podcast make him more frustrated, he said, “I think he said a handful of things that made me more frustrated throughout the week than even maybe I was after the race.”

Larson admitted that he was more frustrated because it was Hamlin. In the interview, he added, “Just because it’s happened with him (Denny Hamlin) more than any other driver in my career. And then you know a win was taken.”

Larson certainly feels that Hamlin stole his much anticipated Pocono 400 victory. While that is true, Larson has been honest about what all has transpired during the past week.

Kyle Larson is one of the calmest drivers on track and likes to talk on track with his driving. Fans have seen Larson keeping out of controversies and focusing on his driving. However, Larson wasn’t his usual after the Pocono Raceway incident.

Larson, in a recent interview, pointed out how media houses expect drivers to react more aggressively. He said, “I think you guys will all agree, I tend to blow things over quickly, I think you guys would love to get more out of me a lot of time. So, I feel like I do a good job most of the time”

However, he admitted that this time around, he has been more agitated and has spoken his mind a bit more. He added, “I think this time I’ve probably let it you know linger just on my attitude a little bit this week.” Nevertheless, the situation seems to be settled now as the drivers shift their focus to the Richmond Raceway for the Federated Autoparts 400.
