Ever since its inauguration back in 2010, the NASCAR Hall of Fame has continued its tradition of recognizing the talents and their contribution to the sport with new inductees. Dale Earnhardt, Bill France Sr, Bill France Jr, Junior Johnson, and Richard Petty made the inaugural class. Meanwhile, Jimmie Johnson, Donnie Allison, and Chad Knaus were the most recent inductees, enshrined as the greatest among the NASCAR stars.

And now the race is for the class of 2025. The fans will be able to select two nominees from the Modern Era ballot and one nominee from the Pioneer Era ballot, according to NASCAR. Fans are now in a dilemma as they can only select two members from the Modern Era Ballot. The nominees include the likes of Greg Biffle, Neil Bonnett, Tim Brewer, Jeff Burton, Randy Dorton, Carl Edwards, Harry Gant, Harry Hyde, Ricky Rudd, and Jack Sprague.

Ray Hendrick, Banjo Matthews, Ralph Moody, Larry Phillips, and Bob Welborn make up the nominee list for the Pioneer Era. It was indeed a daunting task for fans to make just two selections out of the star-studded list of the modern era. Many of them were rooting for Carl Edwards but then weren’t sure about their pick for the Pioneer Era ballot.

Fans react to NASCAR Hall of Fame nominees for the class of 2025

Carl Edwards is one of those great race drivers who just couldn’t cross the finish line when it came to winning the championships. The former Roush Fenway has two runner-up championship finishes along with 28 Cup wins. Interestingly, he was named as one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023.

Sharing his pick for the class of 2025, a fan wrote, “Carl Edwards is a no doubter. I would follow with Harry Gant Larry Phillips on the Pioneer ballot”.

A hardcore Edwards fan wanted to see their favorite driver get inducted into the HOF badly. “Let this be Carl’s year please”. Considering all the missed opportunities and premature retirement, a Hall of Fame recognition would certainly cement his status in the sport for years to come.

Another had a rather contracting choice in his selection. They went for the 9-time Cup Series champion engine builder from HMS, Rand Dorton. Their second preference was Harry Grant, who has a record of four consecutive wins. But despite this, they believed that Carl Edwards would be the one to get inducted into the HOF. “I’d say Randy and and Harry should both be in but it’s gonna be Carl Edwards”.

Unable to decide on picking two members from the Modern Era ballot, a fan concluded that all of them should get HOF recognition. “Only 2 get in from the modern era? all those guys deserve to be HOFers”.

The voting lines will open on April 24 at noon and close on May 18. So make sure you register yourself and cast your votes to back your favorite star to make it into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2025.
