In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, NASCAR Truck Series driver, Hailie Deegan opened up on her driver-spotter relationship with TJ Majos. And in that, Deegan made a big admission about how she becomes “monotone” if she isn’t being treated aggressively.

“I had to tell TJ (Majors), ‘Don’t hold back’. Like I don’t’ do well with monotone. I’m like, you wanna say something? Say it.  I feel like everyone gets kind of…I don’t know if it’s NASCAR or outside of it, everyone stays a little calm and relaxed,” she said.

“I like being fired up. I like someone to yell at me if I’m doing something wrong, like I like that aggressive on the radio. Or else I start getting monotone and I start driving not as good or start making as aggressive moves when I’m monotone,” she added.

“I probably wouldn’t be in the ride I’m in right now, being able to race in the truck series full-time, if it wasn’t for me doing social media,” Deegan said. “Because it is very hard to sell sponsorship on a car when you can’t guarantee TV time. It’s very hard to guarantee that.”

“Sponsors want to see numbers. They want to see, ‘I put my logo on your car. How much product is it going to sell me?’ I am able to give them that with social media.”
