Hailie Deegan Savagely Shuts Down Twitter Troll for Offensive Tweet

It’ll be an eternal debate, whether the advantages of social media outweigh it’s clear disadvantages. For instance, look at Hailie Deegan. The young NASCAR driver has an empire of social media followers that have propelled her career.

But at the same time, it’s the same social media that leaves her to deal with things such as the one she recently dealt with.

What happened was, NRF Productions tweeted, “Today is Hailie Deegan’s birthday and the three year anniversary of the most anticipated 18th birthday in NASCAR history. Surpassing Joey Logano’s 18th birthday.”

“……don’t ask why,” the tweet concluded.

This offended Deegan and she made her offense quite clear in a reply – “You wrote this. Then re-read it. And really told yourself “yup this is a good one” ?”

Following this, NRF Productions deleted their tweet and apologized publically for the same.

“Straight up terrible tweeting today on my part. I didn’t intend for that tweet to come off the way it did but I 100 percent see why people are upset and creeped out. I pushed too far and got burned,” the tweet read.

“Would like to apologize to @HailieDeegan for ruining her special day.”

Hailie Deegan has already expressed her “hate” for Twitter

In an episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Hailie Deegan confessed her love for social media, which is an avenue for her to express her personality and her journey.

But having said that, Deegan revealed the “hate” she has for Twitter.

I barely even go on it, just because I hate the negativity part of it. I like people who are positive and funny on social media. That’s why I hate Twitter,” she said.

Deegan described that Twitter is a platform that gives people who haven’t earned a voice, a voice.

“It’s the problem with Twitter. Usually, you have to earn that respect with people, for your opinion to be valued,” she added.
