Hailie Deegan has been riding a wave at this point in her career. The 21-year-old was recently seen participating in her debut Xfinity race, where she finished with a solid result. However, now that the Truck Series season is coming to an end, there have been no talks about her racing further. While many think that she might make the move into Xfinity, Hailie thinks that getting into a seat is extremely hard with just talent.

During an interview with AP, Deegan stated, “Nowadays is so hard in racing, no matter how good you are, what you do, there’s always going to be someone with more money at their fingertips, waiting to buy a better seat. And dammit, no matter how hard you work, it sometimes doesn’t make any difference because there’s somebody who has more money.”

The world of motorsports seems an expensive sport, not only from the car’s point of view but from drivers’s east too. Unless one is able to secure sponsorships, mere talent might not get them far. The challenge is to find a sponsor and have the necessary talent in order for someone like Deegan to rise through the ranks.

While it may look like her future is uncertain, the manufacturer, Ford would say otherwise.

Deegan already has a Monster Energy deal, but the sponsorship money will not suffice to get her into Xfinity. She has been doing pretty well with her own social media channels, especially YouTube, where she has amassed a massive following. It is believed that perhaps Deegan can get some of her personal sponsors on board to help her advance in her career.

Earlier this year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Ford had given Deegan an opportunity to prove her talent by providing her with a car to race in Xfinity. Later on, the global director of Ford Performance Motorsports appreciated her racecraft, and on being asked about Deegan’s future, they said, “will definitely be in a Ford racing something next year.”
