Jimmie Johnson suffered during the third restart incident of the day, a crash caused by Carson Hocevar. Joey Logano faced the consequences as he got caught in the crossfire, taking him out of the race. As of late, Johnson is not living up to the name of being a seven-time Cup series champion, as his last win was back in 2017 when he came in 10th in the overall season. Ever since then, Johnson has not been able to find his mojo.

The accident on Lap 109 that involved Jimmie Johnson and Joey Logano led to both the drivers having to retire from the race. The crash started as a chain reaction to Carson Hocevar making contact with Ryan Blaney, which ultimately swept out Logano and Johnson.

Jimmie Johnson, who was making a strong comeback from a 33rd-place start, was hit from behind and collided with the wall. Overall, the crash not only ended Johnson’s and Logano’s races prematurely but also affected their standings and strategies for the remainder of the season.

Knowing that Johnson has retired from the full-time driving position at Hendrick Motorsport, one fan said, “Wish Jimmie would stay retired.”

“Jimmie Johnson is f***ing cursed,” said this one fan who does not like the difference in the icon’s performance. Johnson has joined the grid only as a part-timer and it’s getting more clear that his decision of not driving full-time might just be a good one.
