“Have Time on My Side” – Kyle Busch Ready to Compete in NASCAR for Another ‘Good 10 Years’

At 35 years old, Kyle Busch is not what one would call, a spring chicken. However, he still insists that he has plenty left in the tank. Recently, he spoke to MRN on various subjects and the idea of retirement eventually cropped up.

He said, “The biggest thing for me is that I have time on my side. I’m 35, but a lot of guys go into 43-45, Kevin [Harvick] being on the upper spectrum of the 44-45 range. So I feel like there’s a good 10 years left at least, I’d love to be competitive that long. There’s a lot of young guys coming up and obviously getting better.”

Kyle Busch also acknowledged that Chase Elliott is the most significant example. Especially considering that he is the reigning champion. Coming back to himself, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver knows that there is a lot that he can still accomplish.

The double Cup Series champion also knows that there are more tracks on the calendar. As a result of that, many will be aiming to make their mark on new tarmac. Owing to this influx, every driver will always have a deep desire to win races. At the end of the day, every driver’s instinct is to go for wins.

Even if he is 35-years old, Kyle Busch will not think about slowing down just yet. While he still has some fight left in him, and as long as he is winning races, that is all that he cares about. Of course, it is also worth mentioning that he also has an ongoing streak of having at least one win in the last 16 seasons.

This puts him on the verge of a very exclusive record and one that he will be a proud owner of. Hopefully, he should banish his forgettable 2020 season and focus on the coming campaign. So, he will come into the 2021 Cup Series season with a massive point to prove.
