Race cars and submarines? No, it’s not a new Hollywood action cinema trope, but a new business tie-up in the NASCAR verse. On Sunday, RFK Racing announced that they have decided to enter into a partnership with BlueForge Alliance. A U.S. Navy Submarine Industrial Base that is involved in securing workers will be the primary sponsor for drivers Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher.

According to reports, BlueForge Alliance will sponsor the drivers for the upcoming 10 Cup races this year and 18 Cup races per season from 2024. However, apart from this massive sponsorship announcement, a cryptic tease on Twitter triggered some race speculations about RFK Racing bagging another major sponsor.

RFK Racing teases fans with a Hendrick Motorsports sponsor

In a recent tweet shared by RFK Racing, Brad Keselowski’s team posted an image that sparked various speculations amongst fans. With the words NAPA Auto Parts and a Chase Elliott font style ‘6’ printed on a blue cover, the team wrote, “.@TeamHendrick when were you gonna tell us about this.”

Quick to respond to their fellow teammate, Hendrick Motorsports replied with another cryptic message. With a picture of two plush dolls (one belonging to HMS and the other to RFK driver) sitting against each other, the team wrote, “They’re onto us…”

Chase Elliott fans are seemingly unhappy with the prospective partnership

Even though RFK Racing would love to have a billion-dollar sponsor backing its drivers up in the Cup Series, it seems that Chase Elliott fans aren’t exactly happy with even the possibility of sharing the #9’s sponsor. NAPA’s parent company Automotive Parts Group has been associated with Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott since his rookie year in 2014.

And now, with this mere rumor about them extending their sponsorship with RFK racing, some Elliott fans wrote, “It’s definitely a copyright infringement.” “No how?”

Furthermore, a few others seemed confused with the tweet. A Twitter user wrote, “Wait..so Brad to Hendrick? But…Chase to RFK maybe?…but….Hendrick to RFK?…but….” Whereas another one wrote, “Elliottards are in meltdown.”

Moreover, another one commented, “As a @chaseelliott fan, THAT’S 100% UNACCEPTABLE, Y’ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!!”

As of now, there is no official news about the sponsorship news. So, it’s safe to say that Elliott fans have no need to panic at the moment.
