Last year was not very optimistic for RFK Racing in terms of consistency. Especially when Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher both missed the playoffs despite the latter winning at Bristol, the morale of the team went down considerably. However, this season tells an entirely different story for this budding racing team. The No. 6 Ford Mustang driver and co-owner of the team showed his concerns about the current No. 1 team, Hendrick Motorsports.

With the two consecutive wins of Chris Buescher in the last two races and the impressive 4th-place finish of Keselowski in the latest, two precious spots in the playoffs are almost reserved for RFK Racing. In a post-race interview after finishing P4 in the Michigan race, Keselowski has some real thoughts to share about HMS and their star driver, who is currently 8 positions behind.

With veteran Hendrick Motorsports drivers like Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott still giving them a run for the last spot in the playoffs, RFK Racing understands the gravity of the situation. When asked how he would take things forward, the co-owner of RFK Racing said, “Yeah, the next two or three weeks is going to get more and more wild.

He regarded Chase Elliott as a major challenge when it comes to road courses, and he is sure that the entire team of the number 9 Chevrolet will come all geared up for their golden boy.

“Chase Elliott is a heck of a road course racer. I know Hendrick Motorsports is coming loaded for bear for him the next two races,” he added.

While talking about Daytona, the Ford icon could not help saying, “If Daytona wasn’t already a madhouse, you can only imagine it now that you have all these prestigious drivers that are just below the cut line, going to lay it all out.”

According to him, the media will have a lot of fodder and multiple storylines to cover over the next three weeks. With so many road course specialists like Shane Van Gisbergen and Elliott, giving their all to snatch that last spot, the competition is going to be extreme.

Brad Keselowski has done an amazing job of directing his team to where they are today. When talking about the fastest Fords in NASCAR, one would usually think of Team Penske or Stewart-Haas Racing. But currently, RFK Racing is giving these two teams a run for their money.

In a recent video, Nate Ryan of NBC Sports and pit reporter Kim Coon discussed the chances of RFK Racing receiving the title of the best Ford team in the Cup Series. Nate Ryan thought that it was too much to call them the best, but Kim Coon said something else.

She exclaimed, “No, not yet. I would like to see more consistency over the course of more than just a year and a half,” she said, “for having this conversation, next season and they have a couple more wins under their belt…then maybe we have a conversation…”

However, Kim hinted at the short-track supremacy of the Fords and said, “I do think though they(RFK Racing ) are at a place where they are toe to toe, if not maybe at a toe over the line relative to SHR.

“It’s hard to argue against Penske, I would put RFK even with SHR at this point, in my opinion,” she added.
