The Hendrick Motorsports team recently announced a new marketing and technology partnership. The NASCAR team’s new sponsor is cyber protection company Acronis. This comes after the two parties decided to ink a deal to last until at least 2023.

With Acronis onboard, their main duty is to act as the primary sponsor for Alex Bowman‘s No. 88 Chevrolet. However, this will only be possible for three races this season.

Those races are the Dover International Speedway doubleheader and the playoff race at the Texas Motor Speedway.

Beyond 2020, Acronis will take on the role of a major associate partner of the four-car team. This includes emblazoning the Acronis logo on all Hendrick Motorsports cars.

The logo will also be present on uniforms and equipment from the 2021 season onwards.

Could Alex Bowman Replace Jimmie Johnson in the No. 48 Car at Hendrick Motorsports?

Speaking in a press release, Bowman said, “I’m looking forward to representing Acronis. We’ve had a strong season so far, and Dover and Texas are very good tracks for us.

“We will do everything we can to keep the No. 88 Chevy up front and welcome Acronis to the Hendrick Motorsports family in the right way.”

Acronis’ founder, Serguei Beloussov, believes that his company can thrive as the Hendrick Motorsports team’s partners. According to him, the loss of data is a huge risk and not to mention the headache that the Coronavirus pandemic brings.

He acknowledged that the Hendrick Motorsports team is aware of the risks and is confident that they can protect themselves in cyberspace.

Since Acronis is at the forefront of cyber protection, it can help the team enhance operations and technological capabilities. This includes cyber protection, security, backup, anti-ransomware, and disaster recovery for data, applications, and systems.

“In today’s environment, cyber protection is a priority for every company,” said Hendrick Motorsports’ President Marshall Carlson.

“We are a technology operation in many ways, so the chance to partner with an industry leader like Acronis is a great fit. Our team looks forward to collaborating with them to promote their tremendous products and services, as well as utilizing those same offerings in our own business, which is winning NASCAR races.”
