Rick Hendrick on the Excitement Surrounding the Stock Car
During his interaction with AP, Rick Hendrick revealed that he was proud of his team as the HMS crew won its class in the Le Mans pit stop competition. Having clinched the fifth position while using a manual jack against teams using air jacks, it was definitely a huge accomplishment for the team.
Reminiscing about how he issued a warning to his team, Hendrick said, “When we said we’re gonna do it, I said, ‘Look, we can’t do this half-a**ed. I want to be as sharp as anybody out there.”
Furthermore, he added how his granddaughter shared updates about the anticipation surrounding the car on social media. He added,
“I don’t want to be any less than any other team here. And just to see the reaction from the crowd, people are so excited about this car. My granddaughter has been sending me all these TikTok things that fans are making about NASCAR being at Le Mans.”
