It won’t be long before NASCAR bids adieu to Jimmie Johnson with barely four races to go. Recently, the 45-year-old revealed that he has something special planned for the race weekend at Martinsville.

To be precise, Johnson along with Ally Racing is unveiling a special livery for the Martinsville race weekend.

The #48 driver spoke to FOX NASCAR about the livery, a tribute to his fans. First and foremost, Johnson praised Ally Racing to the high heavens. He explained that the company relished the idea of embracing the fans online because they are a digital company.

Moving on to the car livery, the #48 car sports 10,000 signatures, and Johnson is truly excited to make them happy. The 45-year-old admitted that he is quite keen to break the car in at the track.

Johnson revealed that all participants will receive an email this weekend, informing them that they will be able to ride with him.

How else can fans pay tribute to Jimmie Johnson?

It is also worth noting that Ally Racing created a website for fans to send messages to the veteran driver. Fans can upload videos, messages, or photographs to pay tribute to Jimmie Johnson.

To make matters even sweeter for the 7-time Cup Series champion, Ally Racing had a tribute of their own planned for the veteran.

Head of Marketing, Andrea Brimmer said, “Hey Jimmie, it’s been a great two years together. It’s going by way too fast. Hopefully, this signature car will let you know that your fans are with you on the race track.”

She also assured the driver that the sponsor wants to help him and his wife continue their work in the local communities. In order to do that, Ally Racing will be donating $70,000 to the Jimmie Johnson Foundation.

Brimmer insisted that Ally Racing is proud to make this donation to allow the Johnsons to continue working with children. The Ally Racing Marketing Head concluded that the company is excited to support him in this next chapter of his life.

Suffice to say, Johnson was touched by the gesture and he confirmed that the donation will be put to good use.

For now, Jimmie Johnson will be focusing on the coming four races before he turns over a new leaf and kicks the next chapter in his career into gear- IndyCar.
