Last weekend at the Circuit of the Americas, multiple storylines were playing out. One of them came at the end of the race when Alex Bowman and Ross Chastain had a coming together with Daniel Suarez. Later on, an incensed Suarez actively hunted down his teammate, Chastain, and Hendrick Motorsports driver, Bowman. He then proceeded to bump the two of them while they were in the pit lane. Now, Bowman has broken his silence on the controversial incident.
In an interview with Frontstretch’s Andrew Stoddard, he talked about the incident in the pit lane and said, “We stood there and talked for a bit and then we actually stood there and watched the video of it. There was really nothing I could have done there. I could have followed him into the corner and gotten run over. I got left to try and defend and I got shoved in there. At that point, there’s really nothing much that you can do, and I think he knows that.”

Bowman added, “As far as I know, I’m sure that he’s mad that he got run over. But when my rear tires are off the ground getting into the corner, because his teammate’s got me jacked up, and his teammate’s getting pushed by another guy. What are you going to do?”

Hendrick Motorsports star Alex Bowman will have to move on
Bowman will be glad that Suarez did not get away scot-free because he was fined $50,000. Furthermore, many in the NASCAR community had an opinion on the situation, and most of it was not favorable toward Suarez. Daniel Suarez copped a lot of criticism for his stunt, especially from the likes of Dale Earnhardt Jr, Brett Griffin, and others.

Griffin called out the Mexican-origin driver, as the drivers are risking death when they are racing. Meanwhile, Dale Jr insisted that there was nothing wrong with retaliation. However, there was a time and place for it, and the pit lane was definitely not the place for it. As a result, Suarez had to reap what he sowed and take his punishment on the chin.
