With all the recent controversies surrounding the NASCAR Cup Series, Sunday’s race at Kansas Speedway didn’t disappoint one bit. While many fans were unhappy with the finish, the Advent Health 400 was truly dramatic and intense with the late brawl between Ross Chastain and Noah Gragson.

Recently, NASCAR released the in-car conversation, minutes before the altercation between the two drivers. After hearing it, it makes perfect sense why Gragson reacted the way he did.

Noah Gragson had some strong words on the radio before he confronted Ross Chastain at the Kansas Speedway

The fans were in for a dramatic episode at Kansas, as the race had all the bells and whistles for an epic outing. As it turns out, it had more than what it initially promised. While Denny Hamlin stole the spotlight with a last-minute rally to edge out Kyle Larson, the feud between Noah Gragson and Ross Chastain brewed way before the post-race confrontation took place.

Things quickly escalated when Gragson held the #1 driver by the shoulder as he called him out for his ways. Soon as the 24-year-old grabbed Chastain, the latter’s obvious reaction was to throw in a quick right. Fortunately or unfortunately, NASCAR officials quickly jumped in to separate the drivers while the Trackhouse Racing driver got the best of the exchange landing the only punch he threw!

Now with the in-car conversation out, the NASCAR community witnessed a furious Gragson, putting out a stern warning for the #1 driver through the radio. Moments before the altercation, Gragson was found saying, “BE READY AFTER THIS “**** ****,” YOU HEAR ME?”

The #42 driver called out the ‘watermelon man’ for his questionable actions on the track. Naturally, with all the rage, Gragson would not sit quietly after the race. What happened next was history.

The infamous incident is now an internet sensation as frenzied fans have taken it to social media. While many fans side with Chastain for settling things the old-fashioned way, some fans also backed the young Gragson for at least confronting the driver for his super-aggressive style of racing.

Well, Jimmie Johnson‘s NASCAR driver has revealed his mindset after the incident. Speaking to the popular YouTube media, Frontstretch, Noah Gragson said, “You know I’m not gonna tear the Trackhouse guys stuff up, I respect their hard work and everything but you know nobody confronts the guy [Chastain] and I went down there and you know grabbed him and showed my displeasure,” 

Further, the 24-year-old elaborated his thoughts going into the fight, “I’m sick and tired of it just, the guy just runs into every one, I mean when you got guys like Chase Elliott other guys telling you to beat his a** it uh you know everyone’s sick and tired of him but nobody has the balls to go up and get him, so I’m tired of it,”
